Should you put a J.D on a file?

I have a file that belongs to 11 Finance, but it is a “one-time-very-special-thingy”, so it does not really belong anywhere, at least for now. Can I just put the 11.03 in front of it and let it be? Yay! Or Nay?

Why not just create the folder 11.03 One-time-very-special-thingy in 11 Finance? It’ll only take a second.

I have many folders that only have one thing in them. @Heloise does have a system where she doesn’t use folders, just files, but in that situation I believe everything within her 11 Finance equivalent is a file. There are no folders.

I’m a little late on the conversation but I indeed have only the very rare incidence where a number would contain more than one file (and even in that case it would be at most two or three), so I don’t bother with folders. When the need arises, I “number” the files by a, b, c at the end of the number.
