Newbie in this field and very disorganized

I must have done something wrong :face_with_hand_over_mouth: because after working with the Workbook this is the summary of categories that I have left.

I think there are too many levels and I would like to read your suggestions to improve them before putting it into operation.

Thanks in advance

Hi there, I highly recommend JDs new release of the Life Admin, that will clear quite a lot up.

By the time I got my hands on it, I was well into the work.

Nevertheless, it has helped me to complete the idea, but I still lack a point of simplification.

This looks like you did a great deal of discovery, which is brilliant.

But these things are too broad. And immediately I see repetition: books to read appears twice.

Squash some things together. Are things with ** a category? I see computers, laptops, smartphones there. In the life admin pack they’re all in a single category, 14 Technology, and they get an ID each.

Worth watching this video if you haven’t already where I talk a little more about what an ID is and how I consider it to have expanded in the last ~10 years.

Thank you very much for the clarifications. :ok_hand:t3:

The video was very illustrative.

In my head is that the index should look like this:

* area
** category
*** id. ```.

So it's time to keep working on it, simplify and break with the PARA scheme that always gets mixed up in my head.

I will add the improved version shortly.

A mind map can really help clarify this structure in your mind. At this point you only need to go 2 levels deep: area / category. Maybe throw a few IDs in just to see how it looks but don’t fill all those out until your a/c structure is sorted.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I really like Mind Maps, but my visual impairment means that I have eliminated them from my workflow, which is based on plain text and emacs Org Mode (similar to Markdown), which is perfectly suited to make such schemes. In the review work I did yesterday, I saw that Life Design covers almost all my needs with the exception of :

  • My Blog project
  • My learning of English, Linux, Programming and Photography
  • My love of email wargames

I’m working on this, although it’s been a big effort for me

Well that’s excellent, if ‘life admin’ can remove some of the more prosaic stuff, that leaves you time to organise your hobbies.

We’re here to help, keep us informed and let us know what you need.

I recognized those org-mode headings in your examples!

I’m getting stuck incorporating all this into life design, but I haven’t forgotten.

The bad thing when I get distracted is that I start other things and in the end everything gets messy
