My personal JD organisation

Hello everyone,
I’m testing the organization with a JD view.
I still find it a bit messy… Need your opinion because I’m looking for something minimalist and very clear at first sight

Hey there. I’m confused by the numbering here … not sure what’s meant to be an area, category, or ID? And have you got projects mixed in there too?

Mm, I can see you have loads of things in there and I have a few questions (some that would have helped me when I first started):

  • Today, if you put all your files and physical papers in this system, would most things be empty? Or is it more that some categories/IDs are actually for things you imagine you might want to keep? If so, You may be willing to join multiple areas/categories together. Maybe Health is actually in Family? Maybe some of these end up not making sense at all?
  • your inbox looks like it might actually belong into your knowledge hub?
  • Would passwords not be in the System?
  • Do you not need areas and categories in your knowledge hub? Woudln’t your learning be in a knowledge hub as well?

Also, some of your numbers look weird? Should 31.1 be 31.01?

Thank you Heloise for your pertinent comments, you hit the nail on the head every time!
So much so that I’ve revised my copy! (you’ll say if it’s a bit better ;-))
As for the inbox, it doesn’t necessarily refer to my Knowledge Hub (for me it’s a catch-all that I sort and dispatch once a week).
By the way, you’re right, my knowedge hub doesn’t need areas and categorie and I think it certainly doesn’t belong in my JD System.
In fact, it looks great on Notion!

It’s true that there’s a tendency to complicate the system when there’s no need to do so.

Yes, I understand, I was getting lost in it myself

I’ve revised my copy, so let me know what you think.

Well, I did break the 2-layer rule a few times, but to be honest I don’t see how I could have done otherwise, but is it really that serious?

Sometimes, I confess to being confused because I come from the PARA method and by the rigor required by this type of organization. Some productivity “gurus” say that you should have the PARA structure everywhere: in your mailbox, in your cloud, in your knowledge management tools, etc.
Do you recommend generating the JD system on all media (e-mail, PC, cloud, knowledge management - “Notion” for me)?

For me, the JD system is first and foremost a way of classifying out all my administrative life (there’s a place for everything and everything has its place).
Heloise’s comment led me to reconsider the place of my second brain/knowledge hub in the JD System and I finally decided to keep it in my Notion space and not in the JD system.
What do you think about that?
