I know there are a few people on here who have shared their Genealogy area structures, so I thought I would share my first pass. I have already started implementing it as a filing system and in Obsidian.
Most of the “real” information lives in my genealogy software, Reunion 14. My filing structure is mostly supporting documents, incoming materials, photos etc.
I won;t bother including the .00 folder structure as I’ve just followed JD standards there.
My first Category is 51 - Research
IDs related to GUILD are probably unique to me, as this is a society I belong to, which is important to my one-name study research. The rest should be self-explanatory.
Category 52 - Records relates to all the types of source documents we come across and may want to store or discuss. (not sure why I can’t make the image as big as the first one).
You might wonder why I don’t separate by surname. This is because all records are coded with a unique reference to the individual based on their “person ID’ from my genealogy software. No need for sorting them by family name.
Let me know if you have any thoughts, suggestions or feedback.
