JDex for charity board member

I am volunteering as a board member for a small charity / foundation. I would like to manage artefacts with the Johnny.Decimal system. I am currently using the LAS for my personal system.

I think the 11.52 Groups, clubs, & volunteering ID will not suffice and that I might need something more to stay organised, but I don’t think a separate system is necessary, too.

I would really like to hear your working examples, thoughts or experiences on this.

I have some requirements / pre-requisites upfront

  • 11.52 will not do, extending it probably also not
  • I don’t want a separate, extra system but keep it in my personal system
  • I prefer not to add extra IDs or categories inside LAS, but am open to considering, please provide any arguments
  • I think I’ll need a new area (20-29) or category in that area, but have not yet given thought to the structure.

Any help is much appreciated.

I wonder if @Alex has anything he can share. He’s the most involved-in-local-clubs person that I know.

I created a new area - Responsibilities, then set 21 as Sierra Club, 22 Toastmasters, … Then each organization is it’s own category. I’m copying the structure from the others & grouping the 21.10, 21.20 as different chunks of that work. 21.00-09 is management of this category. It’s working pretty well so far

I like your terminology of “Responsibilities” as that’s what they are and groups them logically. It’s very unlikely that I will have more than 9 of these so an area of 20-29 should do.

Nice!

Would you mind also sharing your headers (ac.10, ac.20 etc) as they seem to be fixed?
