How to use the "related to" with projects

Hi everyone, I have one question about JDex and the “Relates to” field. Specifically for Obsidian and with Projects.

I have projects in a specific category for work. Because we use Jira, below that folder I am using the Jira ID as folder name and below that I have folders following a template.
So for example I have:

20-29 Company
    22 Company Initiatives
INIT-0123 Improve configuration of blah blah blah
            10 Kick-off, PDR, etc...
            20 Notes
            30 blah blah blah

When I have another project that I have to link to another, I cannot use the links in Obsidian, because it cannot link to folders. In the JDex that I have at 00, I created that project again as a folder and 10 Kick-off, PDR, etc… as a .md
At the moment when I have to link projects using the “relates to” I am pointing to that 10 Kick-off, PDR, etc….md, but it feels awkward.
Am I doing it correctly? Or projects using a template should be recorded in your JDex as .md directly like INIT-0123 Improve configuration of blah blah blah.md?

The much-used Folder Notes plugin should help here.

You can make INIT-0123 etc.md which appears as if it was a note, attached to the folder. Works great. And now that’s a note that you can link to.

(If Folder Notes didn’t exist, I’d say create INIT-0123 etc.00.md and stick it in the root of that folder and link to that. But Folder Notes is the better option.)

Thanks Johnny. If you use Folder Notes, do you need still to keep the JDex in the 00 or can you avoid that? :folded_hands:

In this specific case you don’t need a 00 note.
