Holy smokes - I'm super-me

I’m moving all my work stuff into a jd tree (20-29 Work) based on the life-admin pack, and wow! I’m still deciding where things go and creating new folders, but I’m already on top of current projects in a way I never have been before. In the past they would have just disappeared into the TODO black hole. Using life-admin with emacs orgmode and org-agenda.

Yesssss! Great to hear!

I searched the forum for a thread with success stories, but I can’t seem to find one. Therefore I decided to hijack this one and hope nobody minds.

Before I decided to switch to Johnny.Decimal, I had tried to “organise” my work files using PARA. After a great start I could watch it go downhill and it became increasingly difficult to find stuff that I knew had to be somewhere.

So I bought and studied the LAS, decided to switch at the turn year and felt more organised immediately. However, I tried to curb my enthusiasm, as PARA had also worked very well for me at the beginning.

Today a tiny miracle happened that reinforced my confidence in the JD system: I found a file from 2024 that I had completely forgotten. It was hidden in a PARA-folder that I hadn’t yet come around to incorporate into JD and therefore stored in 00.08. This will save me some work in the near future, also it proves that JD works: From now on, the file lives in a specific address that will never change (52.21, if you’re interested). I will never lose it again.

Also, this tipped the scales in favor of me signing up for JDU. Thank you so much!
