Hey guys,
Hope you’re well.
Love the system but can’t quite seem to get my head around implementing it for my use case.
In particular, I’ve currently got this rather nested structure:
- Master
- Personal
- Work
- Company A
- Assets
- Content
- Content Type A
- In Production
- Live
- Published Content 1
- Supported Resource A
- Sub resource 1
- Sub resource 2
- Sub resource 3
- Supported Resource B
- Sub resource Type 1
- Resource %
- Resource £
- Sub resource Type 2
- Resource *
- Resource (
- Sub resource Type 1
- Supported resource C
- Sub resource !
- Sub resource %
- Supported Resource A
- Published Content 2
- Published Content 3
- Published Content 1
- Content Type B
- Content Type C
- Content Type A
- Content
- Operations
- Marketing
- Assets
- Company A
The nesting format is similar across other primary folders, too. But the biggest painpoint is no doubt the one within “Content”.
This is what I’ve come up with:
300-399 Company A
300-309 Finances
310-349 Courses
311 Course 1
01 Planning and Outline
02 Scripts
03 Slides
03-01 PPT Versions
03-02 PDF Versions
04 Videos
04-01 Camtasia Projects
04-02 Published MP4 Versions
05 Captions Subtitles
06 Quizzes
07 Excel Spreadsheets
08 Code
09 Data
10 Proofs
11 Additional Resources
12 Landing Page
312 Course 2
01 Planning and Outline
02 Scripts
03 Slides
04 Videos
05 Captions Subtitles
06 Quizzes
07 Excel Spreadsheets
08 Code
09 Data
10 Proofs
11 Additional Resources
12 Landing Page
400-499 Company B
400-409 Finances
401 Banking
401-01 Bank 1 Statements
401-02 Bank 2 Statements
402 Sales Revenues
403 Invoices (Payments)
404 Payroll
405 Pension
406 Official Comms
407 Legal Compliance Forms
408 Management Accounts
409 Financial Accounts
410-419 Consulting Services
410 Clients
411 Templates
I’m pretty sure this is diverging from the correct form of the Johnny Decimal system but so far this is the “best” I’ve come up with.
Any pointers on how to get closer to the original form of the system would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks!
